Dreamforce 2017 – Day 4 Highlights

Dreamforce has come to an end. We are all a little sad to see the activities stop but the fun is yet to continue with the knowledge, learnings and key takeaways we’ve packed from all the different sessions we’ve been to.
There were 2 sessions that were unforgettable on day 4:
- Sisters First with Jenna Bush Hager and Barbara Bush
- Compassion in Action Keynote
1- Sisters First with Jenna Bush Hager and Barbara Bush
It was an interesting session with Jenna and Barbara Bush. The twin daughters of President George W. Bush, who grew up in the spotlight, shares their funny, revealing, and personal stories about their family, their adventures, and their sisterly bond. They divulged details, from getting caught drinking as underage college students when their dad was in the White House to their advice to Malia and Sasha Obama, the next presidential children. Now as 35-year-olds, Jenna Hager, Today Show correspondent and mother of two, and Barbara Pierce Bush, CEO and co-founder of Global Health Corps, have co-authored a new memoir “Sisters First: Stories from our Wild and Wonderful Life.”
Here is a video link to the whole session for you to see how great it was to hear these two share their experiences:
2- Compassion in Action Keynote
This was a exciting experience to hear Larry Brilliant, Epidemiologist and Philanthropist, and Adam Grant, Professor, The Wharton School of Business and New York Times Best Selling Author, in a timely conversation on resilience, personal empowerment, and activism in today’s world. Their discussion was focused on Compassion at the Personal Level, Suffering, Grief and Resilience.
Larry was then joined by Rev Earl Smith and Iris Brilliant to discuss Compassion in the Community, Service and Activism. It was interesting to find out that Reverend Earl Smith became the youngest chaplain ever hired by the California Department of Corrections when he was asked to become the chaplain at San Quentin in 1983. In 2000, Earl was named National Correctional Chaplain of the Year. He currently serves as chaplain for the San Francisco 49ers and the Golden State Warriors.
